ABOUT THE REGISTER OF WILLS OFFICE
The Blair County Register of Wills is an elected official who has jurisdiction over the Probate of Wills and the Granting of Letters to Personal Representatives of Estates within Blair County. Blair County Register of Wills Office handles 700 to 800 Estates each year. The office also serves as a collection agent for the collection of Inheritance Tax for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Revenue.

ABOUT THE RECORDER OF DEEDS OFFICE
The Blair County Recorder of Deeds Office is responsible for recording, maintaining and providing accessibility to all documents related to the Real Estate records within Blair County. Blair County documents date back to 1846. Documents related to Real Estate records include, among others, Deeds, Mortgages, Easements, Agreements, Releases, Rights of Way, Subdivisions and Satisfaction Pieces.
The number of recordings for Blair County ranges between 25,000 and 30,000 each year and is based on the local economy and current interest rates.
The Recorder of Deeds Office serves as a collection agent collecting Realty Transfer Tax for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, local municipalities and school districts. These taxes are distributed on a monthly basis.
Notary Oaths, Bonds and Commissions are recorded in this office.
Military Discharges are recorded in this office, however, they are NOT public documents.
